102797 Autoharp

10/23/97. Phil tries out his new autoharp. Or was it Dylan? Or was it Jeff? Or was it Thymme?
In any case: One of those four. And everyone else played everything else. This was an odd phase of the band. Spirits were definitely being conjured during this period. The four would enter the practice space and “things” would immediately start happening. Ritualistic sonorities. Questions arose as to whether CHEER was to continue being a rock band or not. There was mostly interest in non-rock at this time…

1/13/96. Chicago, IL. Empty Bottle. This incarnation of the band (DylanPhilJeffThymme)
had been together for a year and three months by this point, and were really beginning to gel as a unit. Rousing renditions of “Even Has A Half-Life” (yes, that’s Azita Youssefi, who was at every show, demonstrating how this song is indeed a dance tune) and “When Clowns Go Bad” were performed that evening. As seen/heard here. And this was the one and only time Carl Palmer joined in.

Dylan Posa- bass
Phil Bonnet- guitar, vocals
Jeff Libersher- guitar
Thymme Jones- drums
